DETAILED ITINERARY

 

DAY 1
This morning,  a tour guide from Elsa Africa Safaris will meet you at your Hotel in Kampala or Residence . You will be driven south westwards to Queen Elizabeth NP .  Have a stop over at the  equator for photographs and then proceed to reach Queen Elizabeth NP. You will have a game drive enroute as you transfer to the Lodge. Expect to encounter  the ; bush pigs, deffasa water bucks,  elephants and many more savannah wild life along the way. You will be taken to the crater lakes region in the evening to have a glance at  how salt is  traditionally mined  at Katwe salt works.   Dinner and overnight at
Budget – Institute of Ecology
Mid range – Hippo Hill Camp or Ihamba Lodge
Luxury –Mweya safari lodge/ Jacana lodge / Katara Lodge or Kingfisher resort.


DAY 2
Take a cup of tea / coffee before dawn to warm you up for the early riser’s game drive in the Kasenyi miles  track. This will provide you with opportunity to search for animals like; leopards, bush pigs, Buffaloes, forest hogs, elephants, Lions, bushbucks, Uganda Kob, jackals and many more.  Retire from the game drive to have late breakfast and lunch at  your lodge. After lunch you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and George. This boat trip will reward you with game like Buffaloes, hippos, and many birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your choice .


DAY 3: NATURE WALK / CHIMPANZEE TRACKING
Take breakfast then go for a nature walk in the Kyambura gorge in search for primates or Head to Kampala .  In the Chimpanzee trek, you will search for primates  like chimpanzees, bush babies ,black and white colobus monkeys , red tailed monkeys, baboons and many more ( note that this trek is optional and the cost price can be discussed on booking because prices for chimpanzee trekking change). You will then drive back to Kampala passing through the Maramagambo forest to watch out for game enroute. You will reach Kampala in the late afternoon.
