DETAILED ITINERARY

 

Day one
Your Guide will meet you at your Hotel in Kampala to make an early drive southwest to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will stop at the equator for photography and in Mbarara for lunch before reaching the park. You will check in your lodge to go for a walk in the Mweya Peninsula. Dinner and Overnight at Jacana Safari Lodge / Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya hostel.


Day Two
Take break fast before sunrise for the early morning game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. This is a magnificent place to visit and to watch the elephant, lions, hyenas, leopards, jackals, Uganda Kob, bush bucks, warthogs and other animals.
After the game drive, drive back to the lodge for mid morning breakfast as you wait for lunch. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colourful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. So the ride on the channel is another birders paradise.  Dinner and overnight at your lodge.


Day Three
Wake up before the sun rise and transfer to the Kyambura region to track the chimpanzee and other primates. The gorge is the natural home of habituated chimpanzees. Your walk through the Kyambura sector will reward you with other primates like colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, and bush babies. The trip may also yield sightings of the baboons, red tailed and velvet monkeys, and other primates. After chimp tracking you will drive through the Ishasha sector to transfer to Bwindi. Take a mini game drive in Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions to reach Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight at Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead/ Gorilla resort Camp/ Buhoma Community Bandas.


 Day Four
Take a cup of coffee early in morning and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before embarking on the tracking. You will trail through the forest tracks in search of these great apes. The time taken tacking is unpredictable but it ranges between 2-8 hours depending on their movement. The walk through the forest in search of these great apes will be informative providing information about the gorillas, and flora. Enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.  After tracking you will go for an evening village walk and return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.


Day Five
In the morning you will have breakfast and then drive back to Kampala to reach in the evening.
