DETAILED ITINERARY
Mt Kenya Climb - 7days/6nights
Park : Mt Kenya National Park
Grade : B- moderate. Up to 6.5 hours / 15 miles per day.

Day 01 : Nairobi
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport, met by our representative and later transferred to PARKSIDE HOTEL where you will relax. Parkside Hotel is comfortable which our company considers as the best option for the budgeters. Here you booked on bed and breakfast basis but you can upgrade the hotel status at an extra cost. Overnight at PARKSIDE HOTEL.
Day 02 : Nairobi - Old Moses Hut
Picked from Nairobi and drive North straight Mt. Kenya to Sirimon Park Gate where the hiking start. You will hike to Old Moses Camp 10kms which is 4hrs walk. Dinner and overnight at Old Moses Hut (3300m).
Day 03 : Old Moses Hut - Shimpton Camp
After an early breakfast you will ascend to Shipton Camp via Makinders Valley with picnic lunch en-route arriving Shipton Camp late afternoon (16kms which is 7-8hrs hiking duration). Dinner and overnight at Shimpton Camp (4,200m).
Day 04 : Shimpton Camp - Austrian Hut
After breakfast we will hike around the peak through Hausberg valley to Two Turns Huts via western terminal to Austrian Hut with lunch en-route at Tereki Valley arriving early in the evening for dinner and overnight at Austrian Hut (4,750m)
Day 05 : Austrian Hut - Hall Turn (Mintos Hut)
Early climb to point Lenana 4,985m - On clear day you will be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro on the south, Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian Ocean to the east. Descend to Hall Turns for full breakfast and after rest you will explore the Gorges valley. Dinner and overnight at the camp (4,300m).
Day 06 : Hall Turn (Mintos Hut) - Meru Mt. Kenya
Soon after breakfast you further descend to Meru Mt. Kenya Bandas via Vivian Fall and Nithi Fall with en-route lunch at Road Head Dinner and overnight at Meru Mt. Kenya Bandas (2,800m).
Day 07 : Meru Mt. Kenya - Nairobi
You will have a leisure taken breakfast and later you hike down through Chogoria rainfall and where you will be picked and transferred to Chogoria for a lunch. After lunch you will be driven back to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.

Equipment check list
- Torch
- Walking pole(s)
- Sleeping Bag,
- Gaiters: To keep mud, rocks, and snow out of your boots.
- Water purification: This is essential as water for drinking is taken directly from mountain streams.
- Hiking Boots: This is the most important item on the list. You'll need a comfortable/waterproof pair of hiking boots which offer plenty of support. Make sure they are broken in before you get to Kilimanjaro/Mt. Kenya!
