Kenya Samburu Safari (Budget or Lodge)
Samburu is small compared with other game reserves, but undoubtedly teeming with wildlife. This means you spend less time exploring because they are concentrated over a small area. There are over 50 different species and has quite a number of endangered species like Grevy Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk etc. One of the most interesting animals to see is the Gerenuk, the long-necked antelope adapted for browsing high bushes. Most felines can be found as well as 365 species of birds. Samburu is situated north of Kenya and is about 5-6 hours drive from Nairobi. Samburu is also home to the Samburu people, Maasai's cousins.
Close by is the Namunyak, a vast Samburu community wilderness area administered by the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust in close conjunction with the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The conservation area is an unspoilt wilderness with few roads. Walking excursions in the area are popular activity with local Samburu game scouts as guides. Game drives are also available for adventure in search of the lions, elephants and crocodiles in the river.

Day 01: Nairobi - Samburu
Depart Nairobi at 07h00 and drive to Kenya's northern frontier to Samburu Game Reserve via diverse views of Kenya's agricultural hinterlandsa and the more rugged north. Arrive in time for lunch. Spend early afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon game drive.
