6 DAYS TREKKING LOITA HILLS AND MAU ESCARPMENT CTSS 29X

Loita hills boarders the Great Rift Valley and its inhabitants are the Maasai the areas wild scenery and variety of habitants offer true African experience to the visitor. As well as Elephants and buffalo for which Loiter hills is famous, for you may also encounter less well known species such as Columbus monkeys, impalas, and rarely seen dik dik. These wild animals are not accustomed to vehicles and walking offers a unique opportunity to see the smaller but equally fascinating life of the bush. During our walk in these areas, you will see a wealth of bird life and concentration of game.


DAY 1: NAIROBI/ MAJI MOTO
Leave Nairobi in the morning to Maasai town Narok for a short break before you proceed to Maji Moto/Dalala campsite. After noon hike in the surrounding hills and bath in the natural hot stream which give the name of this area. Dinner and over night in a campsite.

 

DAY 2: LETIKUNYI CAMP
After break fast trek through the Maasai plains wheere thorn trees shrubs give shelter to zebras, Gazelle, Wildbeests, and other animals as well as bird species can be encountered to Letikunyi campsite. Dinner and overnight in the campsite.

 

DAY 3: OL-PESIETI CAMP
Start your hike via Narosura village in the morning to either Morijo by using the southern trail over the hills or to Ol-Pesieti by using the northern trail over looking Lenkutoto plateau for dinner and over night.

 

DAY 4: NGUTOTO CAMP
Break the camp in the morning and walk through the lost child fotest where Elephants, Colobus Monkeys and Antelopes can be seen to Ngutoto/Entosapia fof dinner and overnight in a campsite.

 

DAY 5: NGURUMANI VILLAGE
After breakfast, walk along the trail which lies at the bottom of two ridges before turning to the ridge over looking the Great Rift Valley. Descend the Ngurumani escarpment to the Village at the bottom of the Valley for over night in a budget hotel of in a campsite. This area might be very hot because of itd location at a low altitude.

 

DAY 6: LAKE MAGADI /NAIROBI
Early in the morning connect a transfer bus to Nairobi via the series of Lakes at Magade where soda ash is extracted to arrive Nairobi in the afternoon.
